Why did you decide to remodel your house? What problems did you need to resolve?
As with everyone during Covid quarantine, we gained a new appreciation for the value of space. We loved the Mid-Century Modern vibe of the house we purchased, but we knew we wanted to update the look a bit and tailor the spaces within the house to fit how we live as a family of 4 with two teens.
Why did you choose to work with COOPER Design Build?
We walked by a CDB remodel every day for several months on our walk with our kids to school, and we admired it from afar. When the time came to think about our own remodel, we knew we wanted a design-build company to handle the entire remodel process seamlessly. After chatting with several of the CDB team members and meeting with Lane, we knew this was the team to translate our thoughts into a reality while also being realistic with our budget.
What are the top things that you love about your newly remodeled space?
We love how light, bright and open the space is while also allowing for private areas for video work calls and online school. The floor plan, which includes an addition and new flow in the back of the house, feels like it has always been there. The seamless connection between old and new helped maintain the Mid-century modern vibe we love about the house while infusing it with 21st-century convenience.
What design details or features are you most excited about?
The kitchen has really become the heart of our home. The slab backsplashes were one of our “Pinterest dreams” that turned out even better than we expected. We also love the modern fireplace which the Cooper team resized, resurfaced, and topped off with the most fantastic glass and ceramic ball set. It’s such a beautiful focal point in the room. The primary bedroom suite addition has been like having a boutique hotel room in our own home!
How has the remodel improved your lifestyle at home?
Space! So much beautiful, usable space! We have a wonderful kitchen/family room to gather in as a family, and then we also have our own areas within the house to have some time to ourselves. Never again will we take space for granted!
