“COOPER Design Build thoughtfully integrated indoor and outdoor spaces into open, flowing environments focused on maximizing the gorgeous views and beautiful light. They truly excelled throughout each phase of our very large project. In the design phase, meetings were well-orchestrated and I am grateful to their design team for doing all the hard work for me! As we began building, I loved having a dedicated team who were incredibly knowledgeable and knew EVERY detail of my project. Our sincere thanks to COOPER Design Build for their professionalism, passion, and commitment from start to finish.” — Homeowners Kristy & Amir
After decades of moving their family around the world, our homeowners found themselves in Oregon and fell in love. Their hope of finding a house that allowed them to live serenely surrounded by amazing views came to fruition after an exhaustive search. Already acquainted with our team, we were so excited to receive their happy phone call letting us know they had found their forever home and were ready to remodel it to suit their family’s dynamic lifestyle!
Perched high above Lake Oswego’s North Shore, this 1925 home had been remodeled and added on to over the years but continued to not take enough advantage of the spectacular views it could provide. Optimizing the indoor/outdoor living opportunities for the home was the primary focus of the large remodel that ultimately included an infinity pool and spa, multiple levels of decks for dining, relaxing, and entertaining, plus a handsome porte-cochere to improve the front facade.
The interior of the home received all new wide plank wood flooring, updated bathrooms, and a kitchen that features a custom-crafted butcher block island and matching pot rack from salvaged wood. The entire southern wall of the kitchen was removed to install 10 ft La Cantina folding doors that lead out to the spacious new covered dining area and outdoor kitchen. The original stone fireplace in the living room was repaired and brought to life with the addition of a gorgeous custom screen that stands over 4 ft tall and easily swings open to build roaring fires. The large picture window along the southern wall of the living room was removed and replaced with a second set of La Cantina doors that lead out to the enormous main level deck with a 180-degree view of the lake and hills. The seamless integration of a sparkling infinity pool into the deeply sloping hillside required masterful engineering and planning–we love how it looks like it has always belonged there!
The front of the home also required extensive engineering to create a large parking pad from a deeply sloping hillside. This allowed for a stately porte-cochere to be designed for the front entry that balances the proportions of the home from previous additions. Featuring a gorgeous flagstone slate entry, grand columns, and a new custom farmhouse front door to welcome guests, the elegant front facade is a perfect example of form meeting function.
