This adorable Craftsman bungalow had received many wonderful updates from its previous owners, however, its newest homeowner was a little less than charmed by its cramped, awkward, and dated master bathroom. The upper floor of the home was a generous space with large walk-in closet but the layout was broken up by the poorly planned bath. Creating a bright, comfortable, modern master bathroom was a huge priority in making the home their own.
By pushing the wall forward three feet toward the staircase in the bedroom the extra square footage needed to design a proper master bath was achieved and the fun started from there. A rich walnut vanity with trough sink was custom built and all of the smart cabinetry elsewhere in the room was designed to match. A large walk-in shower makes great use of the expanded space and receives a lovely dose of sunlight from its dual-sided custom glass enclosure. Careful to create continuity with the more period styling of the home, timeless tile patterns where used and kept on trend with a mix of brushed brass hardware and classic matte black fixtures.
