A beautiful home with a beautiful view that our homeowners fell in love with at first sight. With light flooding into the home from the large picture windows into the sunny living room, the kitchen located in the back of the home was dramatically darker by comparison. The dark cherry cabinetry and slate tiling did not help lighten or expand the feeling of this centrally located space and our homeowners felt that a kitchen remodel was in order to increase the efficiency of its compact layout, brighten the space, and create continuity with their more airy style and palette.
The cabinetry was painted a crisp white and the awkward island was reconfigured to move the stovetop to a more efficient location where it did not compete with the busy sink and refrigerator area. Subtle yet cohesive color changes between the countertops, island, and cabinetry provide a greater feeling of space and interest and are reflected in the lovely backsplash tile selection.
