From incredible misfortune sometimes come the most beautiful and beloved projects–we have experienced this time and time again, most recently with this amazing home in a beautiful area of the SW Hills.
Our homeowners found themselves houseless after an accidental fire destroyed their home in a matter of hours. Referred to our team by a happy recent client, they were in a difficult and delicate situation that required a very quick and thoughtful approach. We responded right away and worked through their project from the very start to the completion–the end result being the home they always dreamed of in their beloved neighborhood.
Rebuilding from the ground up allowed this family the opportunity to design along with our team every feature and dream they had envisioned over the many years of living in their more outdated original home. As a growing family they were able to make the two levels of the home work best for their older children by placing three bedrooms and two generous baths below their primary suite on the main level and creating flex space on the lower level for the kids to utilize as well.
The main level is designed to function as a great, open space to enjoy cooking, eating, relaxing and even sometimes working. A full wall of windows and doors along the back wall capture the beautiful vistas of the home which faces out to Mt Hood and open to create a very fluid indoor/outdoor experience on the large covered patio.
The kitchen is the heart of the home and features a rich, classic palette of charcoal grays contrasting with crisp whites and featuring a unique L-shaped island with waterfall edge, tons of custom storage and an awesome 48” Wolf range. The layout of the kitchen captures the mountain view and has a thoughtful, efficient design that makes cooking fun for the whole family to participate in together!
Throughout the home there is a playful use of color and tile design that give each space its own personality and definition. Pops of color in all the baths along with whimsical tile selections make every room make its own statement. Even the generous mudroom and pantry between the two car garage and kitchen has a fun tile pattern–we love the play of patterns in this home!
But more than anything we are so happy that this wonderful family is able to come home every day and love living here in a home that truly is a custom fit and reflection of their lifestyle!
