“COOPER Design Build is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. They listened to our design needs and truly partnered with us by understanding our way of working and priorities. The methodology that they presented was well documented and made sense to us.” — Homeowners Stephanie & James
Our clients loved the old charm, good bones, and tree-lined neighborhood of their Craftsman-style home but required a house that was far more functional, efficient, and comfortable for a modern family. They had a wonderful period-appropriate vision for the remodel that emphasized a playful use of color and texture and featured the restoration of vintage details.
Increasing the kitchen’s workspace and efficiency, as well as smart storage solutions, were important considerations as we worked to reintroduce Craftsman aesthetics. Removing a chimney in the kitchen expanded the modest footprint and allowed for a fixed island integrating a built-in microwave drawer and natural butcher block countertop. The golden mustard custom cabinetry includes smart features making organizing and cooking a joy. Floor to ceiling cabinetry expanded storage vertically while a lovely shallow bookcase and bar service area maximized space and added charm in this smart, handsome kitchen.
The upstairs bath was remodeled to vastly improve its functionality while remaining simple, elegant, and period-appropriate. Intricate, clean tile design, timeless chrome fixtures, restoration-minded details, plus an updated shower and bathtub create a beautiful, bright, and airy bathroom for the family to share.
COOPER Design Build is proud to have redesigned and modernized this home without sacrificing any of its period richness and charm. In keeping with this, our homeowners have relayed that the most beloved detail of their remodeled home is now the stunning fireplace, featuring hand-painted Motawi tile married with new meticulous millwork, that greets the family each time they arrive home.
