Pearl District Luxury Condo Remodel
The open layout of this Pearl District condo appealed to these homeowners, but they knew they wanted the space to be brighter and more modern. Without moving any walls or changing the layout, we brought their vision to life and made the kitchen backsplash and floor-to-ceiling fireplace the showpieces of the condo.
The expanded island features a built-in gas cooktop and a 3 cm neutral-colored quartz countertop with grey veining. A matching slab with open shelving makes a dramatic backsplash on the back wall, brightening the kitchen and elevating the overall appearance. High-end, stainless steel Thermador appliances make this the perfect home for an at-home chef. We also increased the function of the pantry by adding interior lighting and roll-out shelves. Worried about blocking the gorgeous downtown Portland views, we installed a retractable vent hood that can be raised when not in use.
We also took the fireplace surround to the ceiling using porcelain tiles modeled after French Gris Marble. The large 24” x 48” straight stack tiles with white oak mantle become the focal point of the room.
The final renovation came in the bathroom, where we replaced the dated vanity and shower with custom cabinetry and shower glass.
Condo renovations take extra coordination due to building rules and HOA compliance, but our process made it easy for these clients to get the sophisticated home they desired. A neutral color palette combined with bold features makes this a showstopper the clients can enjoy for many years.
