Raleigh Hills Contemporary – Whole House Remodel
“Working with COOPER Design Builders was a pleasure. There were never any problems, communication was excellent, the quality of the work was top notch, and everything was completed as scheduled. In fact, the job ended up taking less time than we all anticipated and the result was exceptional” – Steve & Elaine
Our clients wanted to retire into a modest sized home in Portland. They found a small ranch home in a great location on a small lot, however, it hadn’t been updated since about 1980. In addition, the floor plan had some major circulation problems: a cramped entry and awkward hallway, no connection between the dining and kitchen areas, three separate patios isolated from each other, and a lack of natural light in the center of the home. Without increasing the footprint of the home, we were able to dramatically improve the livability and feel of each space. We removed flat ceilings at two wings of the home. The kitchen and the living/dining room now have light and airy vaulted ceilings which make the spaces feel much larger than they are. The entry hall was completely opened up: the walls were removed around stairs and replaced by a custom designed railing and new etched glass front doors brought in much-needed light into the area. We also added sliding doors and modified window placements throughout the entire home to bring in more light and connect together all of the patio spaces for a continuous flow.
