Council Crest Neo-Traditional – Whole House Remodel
The word that best sums up this remodel: OPEN. Long before COOPER Design Builders overhauled this dated ranch it had undergone multiple disjointed remodels that left it boxy and feeling dark. We redesigned the main floor completely opening up and letting the light in this mid-century home. This was accomplished by moving the kitchen to the back of the house, removing the sunken family room and eliminating the walls between the living room and dining room. We then added a vaulted ceiling over the new kitchen where there once was a flat roof. The gorgeous Carrera marble on the 10-foot island, custom painted cabinets, stunning chandelier, and oak floors throughout make this fabulous kitchen and flowing floor makes perfect sense.
The end result is a much more livable and comfortable home that is perfect for a growing family that loves entertaining high atop Portland’s Council Crest.
